Standing in the heart of Northern King Island, Yambacoona House is 20 minutes’ drive from Cape Wickham Links and just over twenty minutes from Ocean Dunes golf courses. Both courses are built on sand dunes looking over rugged coastlines.
The best beaches of King Island are also at your doorstep, with swimming at Yellow Rock Beach, Quarantine Bay, and Disappointment Bay. The world-famous Martha Lavinia Beach, and Disappointment Bay, Phoques Bay, and Porky Beach offers the best surf breaks on the north end of King Island.

Nature and Wildlife Attractions
This historic homestead sits on 17-acres of land and is nestled behind grassy sand dunes formed up to 12,000 years ago. The local reserves, walking tracks, and untouched beaches are yours to explore. You can swim in the jewel waters, discover hidden bays, and spot local wildlife around the fresh water lagoons.
Local residents include Bennetts Wallabies, Tasmanian Pademelons, echidnas, , wild peacocks, sea eagles, and the orange-bellied Parrot.
Shopping on King Island
If you need supplies, Yambacoona House is located 25 minutes from Currie, the main town on the island. Gourmet food and supermarket supplies can also be delivered to your accommodation while a personal chef can prepare onsite feasts or gourmet picnics.
